For more than 30 years Birgit Bartoschek, initial co-founder of Four Paws Kingdom Campground in North Carolina, has specialized in dog training methods that create, “Results the Fun Way.”

Using Positive Reinforcement Training Birgit has successfully trained puppies and adult dogs in the sports of Barn Hunt, Agility, Basic Manners/obedience, Trick Training and Rally Obedience all while increasing the bond of trust between dogs and their human companions.

Something she is particularly passionate about is the importance of playing and bonding in order to train dogs – this approach has helped her succeed in competitions overseas and in the US.

She and her Corgis Belle (MACH 4 – now 12 years old) and Rerun, also found their love for Barn Hunt a few years ago and are competing at Masters level.
Her passion for Barn Hunt laid the groundwork for establishing the “Barndoleros of Las Cruces” as a BHA recognized dog sports club.

What is Barn Hunt?

Sight, Smell and hearing are all senses used by dogs when they hunt.

The sport of Barn Hunt gives us a fantastic opportunity to watch our dogs use their natural abilities while they search for a live rat in the straw/hay in a Barn Yard like setting .

(Rats are safely enclosed in aerated tubes)

Dogs will climb up and over and run through a tunnel built out of straw bales.

We have the opportunity to learn about this world of scent behavior, observe our dogs and be the voice to tell where they found the rat.
